Applied Control Engineering Projects
July 10, 2017 - Present
InTouch HMI
Created a dual-screen HMI application for a balance of plant system using Wonderware InTouch v11.
FactoryTalk ME
Concurrent with InTouch HMI development, produced a PanelView HMI to provide local control system access.
FT AssetCentre
Configured two dedicated FactoryTalk AssetCentre machines for backing up customer programs.
DreamReports
Developed a handful of reports for daily, weekly and monthly wastewater discharge totalizations.
Honeywell DCS
Programmed sequential flow charts and control modules for a new distributed control system.
SQL Server
Developed stored procedures for executing periodic database backups.
APACS Process Suite
Simulated a series of control system problems in order to teach troubleshooting techniques to new engineers.
Web Crawler
Engineered a crawler in Python for pulling data off of the web, then created an Excel script for sorting it.
Excel VBA
Built various tools including an InTouch tag sorter and a resource utilization app for project management.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Projects
Design, Manufacturing, and Marketing Final Project
September, 2016 - May, 2017
Over the course of two semesters, myself and a team of MBA students traced the new product development process. From market research and conceptualization, to plant design and logistics, to a detailed marketing roll out plan, we developed an idea into a feasible product.
The result: a smoothie shaker.
CRISPR Golden Gate Assembly Design Automation
January, 2017 - May, 2017
Developed a MATLAB script for automating the design of plasmids for transformation into E. coli. This was the culmination of two and a half years of research in the lab of Professor Mattheos Koffas, working with Brady Cress.
Descriptive Statistics Challenge - First Place!
November 14, 2016 - November 19, 2016
On Monday, eleven competing teams received a package of data from health insurance provider CDPHP. Over the next five days, teams attempted to produce visualizations which would be presented on Saturday to members of the Lally School as well as CDPHP. Following two rounds of judging, my team was selected for first place due to the unique story our analyses conveyed and the power of our interactive Tableau workbook for facilitating management decisions.
Corn Stover to Jet Fuel Poster
January, 2016 - May, 2016
Designed a corn stover to jet fuel refinery and investigated its feasibility. This involved scoping the project, designing the chemical processes and simulating them in Aspen Plus, planning the plant layout, and performing economic and safety analyses. The final plant design (after a series of revisions) was then tested for feasibility and merit as an investment.
